Ousmane Dembélé has recently found another level in his game, scoring four goals in his last three matches. The former FC Barcelona standout scored two goals against his ex-club in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal tie and then a brace in the win over FC Lorient.

Paris Saint-Germain are entering a crucial part of the season with a Champions League semifinal tie against Borussia Dortmund and a Coupe de France Final against Olympique Lyonnais on the horizon.

With Paris Saint-Germain heading into a critical phase of the season, the impressive form of Dembélé could be a game-changer. Journalist Bertrand Latour believes that PSG have a world-class player in their ranks, and Dembélé’s performance could be a significant factor in the team’s success.

“He has always been a world-class player, that much we knew,” Latour said on the set of L’EQUIPE de Choc (h/t Le10Sport). “There were the early signs at Rennes, the breakthrough at Dortmund, and the confirmation at Barcelona. The journey was tumultuous due to injuries constantly plaguing him. Initially, it was partly his responsibility, and later, it was the consequence of what went wrong at the beginning and poor management. It then required readapting his body and getting things in order.

“But he has already had sequences where he was very good and decisive. He’s a player I greatly admire. I’m not surprised that Ousmane Dembélé has scored three goals in Ligue 1 by mid-April, and his amazing ability to eliminate opponents, I didn’t discover that at PSG. So for me, he’s a world-class player who is delivering excellent performances. What he has lacked a bit since joining PSG has been statistics, especially in terms of goals. And now, he has them. So everything is good, but I’m not discovering a new Dembélé.”

If the Ligue 1 side want to reach and win the Champions League final at Wembley Stadium, Dembélé must keep playing at this impressive level. If he and Bradley Barcola can be the running mates for Kylian Mbappé, then there’s a chance that PSG could be winning a treble this season.
