Packers Named Potential Trade Destination For 49ers’ Brandon Aiyuk
Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The Green Bay Packers already have an impressive stable of young receivers, but could they try to further improve it by attempting to swing a trade for San Francisco 49ers star Brandon Aiyuk?

Sayre Bedinger of Dairyland Express thinks it would be a fine move for the Packers ahead of the NFL Draft.

Aiyuk is entering the final year of his deal and does not seem too enthralled with the 49ers at the moment. Or, at the very least, he is not displaying any real loyalty to the club and simply wants to get paid.

Considering this is going to be Aiyuk’s first major contract, it’s hard to blame him.

The 26-year-old is coming off of a spectacular 2023 campaign in which he played 16 games and hauled in 75 receptions for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns.

San Francisco would certainly like to keep him moving forward, but financial constraints may make it impossible.

That’s where a potential trade comes into the picture, and Bedinger thinks Green Bay could trade one of its top three picks in exchange for Aiyuk.

Of course, it would probably take more than that to pry Aiyuk away from the Niners.

The Packers own the 25th overall pick of the draft and a pair of second-rounders, so perhaps they could put together some sort of package for the star wide out. It would almost certainly require more than just one pick, as the 49ers don’t seem to be in any rush to move Aiyuk.

Aiyuk, who played his collegiate football at Arizona State, was selected by San Francisco with the 25th overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft.

After a couple of solid seasons to begin his career, Aiyuk broke out in 2022, catching 78 passes for 1,015 yards and eight scores.

Green Bay already has Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks in its receiving corps, but adding Aiyuk into the fray would be downright scary for opposing secondaries, especially with Jordan Love throwing the football.

We’ll see if the Packers try and make a move for Brandon Aiyuk or another top-flight receiver between now and the draft next month.
